Required recipient documents:
- Aadhaar Card — front and back; or
- passport — first and last page.

After the parcel arrives in India, customs may contact the recipient and request an electronic copy of the Aadhaar Card or passport. After the documents are provided, the parcel goes through customs clearance and is handed over for delivery.

Local delivery in India:
Delivery within India is handled by Meest partners — Delhivery and Blue Dart.

Insurance:
Each parcel includes standard insurance coverage of CAD $60. For valuable or fragile items, we recommend arranging additional insurance through the operator.

2. Make sure there are no prohibited items inside.
3. Select the destination country — India.
4. Enter the actual weight and box dimensions.
5. Fill in the sender and recipient details.
6. Declare the parcel contents and the value of the goods.
7. Pay for shipping.
8. Print the label and securely attach it to the box.
9. Bring the parcel to the UPost Global office or order courier pickup in Edmonton.
10. Track the parcel using the tracking number.

For India, it is especially important to enter the recipient’s phone number and email correctly, as customs documents may be requested directly from the recipient.

Many personal-use items can be shipped to India, as long as they are not prohibited by carrier rules or Indian customs regulations.

Examples of permitted items:
- children’s clothing, children’s shoes, diapers, baby food
- clothing, T-shirts, pants, dresses, jackets, socks, scarves

All items must be described honestly and clearly in the customs declaration.

- cash
- bank cards
- credit and debit cards
- securities

Yes, but there is an important restriction.

Vitamins, dietary supplements, protein, chocolate, dry foods, baby food, or baby formula may be shipped only within the permitted limit.

The total weight of such items must not exceed 2 kg per parcel.

If this limit is exceeded, the parcel may be delayed by customs or additional charges may apply.

Pharmacy medicines, including over-the-counter medicines, are not permitted for shipping to India.

Recipient documents are required for customs clearance in India.

Accepted documents:
- copy of Aadhaar Card, front and back; or
- copy of the first and last page of the passport.

After payment, the sender and/or recipient may receive a link to upload documents to the phone number or email provided during registration.

These documents are required for KYC verification and customs clearance in India.

If the documents are not provided, the parcel may be delayed until the recipient’s identity is confirmed.

Customs charges in India depend on the declared value, product type, and customs assessment.

According to Meest Canada:
- parcels with an estimated value below CAD $300 may be exempt from duty
- the reference point for duty-free calculation is approximately CAD $10 per 1 kg
- household goods may be subject to approximately 42% duty
- electronics may be subject to approximately 75–80% duty
- high-value goods may have additional taxes or may be prohibited

Example:
If the parcel weighs 5 kg, the estimated duty-free value may be calculated as 5 kg × CAD $10 = CAD $50.

The final decision regarding duties, taxes, and import approval is made by Indian Customs.

Shipping cost may be calculated not only by actual weight, but also by volumetric weight.

If a box is large but lightweight, it takes up more space in transport or on the aircraft. For this reason, the carrier may charge based on volumetric weight.

The higher value is used for pricing: actual weight or volumetric weight.

We recommend measuring the length, width, and height of the box accurately before payment.

For safe delivery to India, we recommend:

1. Use a strong cardboard box.
2. Wrap fragile items separately with bubble wrap or soft packing material.
3. Fill empty space with paper, foam, or air pillows.
4. Seal all edges and seams with strong tape.
5. Clearly provide the sender and recipient details: name, address, and phone number.

Poor packaging may be a reason for compensation refusal if the item is damaged.

According to Meest Canada for the Canada → India direction:

- minimum chargeable weight — 5 kg
- estimated Meest rate — from CAD $12.95 per kg
- Door-to-Door delivery in India — approximately CAD $15 per box
- standard insurance — CAD $60 per parcel

The final UPost Global price may differ depending on weight, dimensions, order method, parcel pickup, promo code, and additional services.
